4th week, 7 days personal challenge report

I had the whole week feeling very lethargic, stuffy, sore and ache with flu/cold symptom. Didn't sleep very well as coughing all night. Managed to fit one run on Sunday 21/06/09 for just 5k. I thought I didn't do that bad.
I am continuing my personal challenge next week for another 30 days so I can achieve my target goal. I did a boxing session yesterday and has will have another one tomorrow. I look forward to that. My shoulder, arm and upper body are sore and feeling really hard as muscle are pumping from boxing session. I really enjoyed and felt like I can do boxing for long term training as part of full body / all round exercise (hardcore!) I want to write a bit more about my boxing session tomorrow as I forgotten to bring my camera yesterday (I promised some photo shots right?). Our instructor is 6 months pregnant but she didn't give us any sympathy during the session! Ha..ha..

As I am not back into the training game and felt much better, this week report for my another 30 days personal challenge will be on starting next Monday 29/06/09. I also got 2 weeks before my Tough Guys and Gals Challenge in Auckland and hope I have prepared myself mentally and physically for the event.

I hope to have a fresher report the week after as I surely couldn't see myself training at all next week. Hope there will be some shots of me with the equipments (bike, wind trainer, ab crunch, maybe even boxing!) to show that I am doing all this for real! I am blowing my nose really hard as I type this blog.....best get back to bed and get warm....

2nd week, 7 days personal challenge report

I struggled a bit on this 2nd week due to weathers aren't that brilliant for running and biking. Thanks to my wind trainer I managed to fit few session but did miss the outdoor bike ride.

I also haven't been that good taking the photos this week as my hubby was away on business trip in Christchurch hence the pictures are a bit pants! I must admit the D60 camera are just the business and differences in photos from last week and this week are huge in term of the sharpness of the image. Still, as long it does the purpose (does it make my belly look even more huge?) that's what matter. Trying to take the photo of me standing on the scale also tricky as it didn't justify my weight that well. What the heck, I did lose 0.2 kg.

Ok, results of 2nd weeks are as followed.

Bike ride on wind trainer: 10k, 30 mins. Average 20k/ph

Note: Didn't cycle out at all this week as its too cold! Still wind trainer has done good to me to so no biggie there.

Goal for next week:
1. To do some MORE swimming in the challenge.
2. To run at least 10 k twice next week (didn't managed last week due to too much going on!)

My PB run ever so far!!!

I accidentally name this route Hilly 10k where it isn't 10k in total at all (so sorry if this is misleading!) I quite like mapmyrun.com where I can find route that I familiar with in my area and I can pin point how far I want to run without having these gadget on my arms or watch that I can hardly afford to buy at the moment (GPRS) that can tell how far I have run. I will buy one of those gadget soon, only if I am really committed to do these running on a regular basis (which I have been doing anyway) I am so stoked that I managed to run this route as Rosario Crescent has this killer hill (steep, not so steep) that quite sudden and really make my leg feel pain immediately once the hill started. Its not too long the hills but the gradual quite sudden (in my humble novice opinion as a non runner) but at the end of the hill it a gradual downhill which rest and relax my leg muscle a bit from the sudden crucial climbing pain that I have to go through on that steep bit of hill. I must admit at the 3rd climb (3rd loop) I swear few times I keep saying to myself that I need to walk but I forced myself not to. Even it mean I totter rather than jog, I am not walking it!

All and all I am really happy with this route as I never done hill before (any sort of hill) and I am known to do flat 10.5k for 1:29:45 where on this route, I did it in 59:55 which to me is my personal best yet although its just 8.5k. In my roughly calculation (hope I calculate it right to start with!) I ran 1.166m per minute on my last 10.5k event totalling 1:29:45 (roughly 90 mins) So if it took me roughly 60 mins to run 8.5k I actually has better my mileage by 1.48k further! I have then calculated that now I can run 1.416m per minute which mean I have cut 0.25m per minute faster since I started to do my running more recently. I think that's is an achievement for me. I know I am still a turtle but I hope one day I will be the rabbit that runs amongst other rabbits on November 1st!
